Luxe Interest is Moving East

Luxury and designer goods have faired well despite the ongoing financial turbulence that’s been in effect over recent times. But some parts of the world are weathering the storms pretty well and notably Asian countries are at the forefront.

It’s been predicted that China, will be the the second largest market for luxury goods, second only to the US. In the next five years, China is expected to take over the position currently held by Japan, as well as overtaking Britain, Italy and France; all of which are countries well known for luxury designer brands.

A majority of European luxe brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton and particularly Burberry, have had a prominent and growing presence in Asian markets, notably China. Prada’s recent SS13 collection was heavily inspired by Japanese culture.
